Hi Hippies,
Episode 9 of the podcast features Rotimi Williams, our Hippie of the Month for September 2021. Rotimi Williams is a former banker and journalist, turned rice farmer, tech entrepreneur and artist – LinkedIn, Instagram, Wikipedia.
We catch up with him and discuss his transition from a conventional career in financial services at a leading Nigerian bank to becoming the CEO of Kereksuk Rice Farm, Nigeria’s second largest commercial rice farm. Rotimi speaks of how he turned a disappointing fund-raising transaction into a remarkable opportunity as a self-taught rice farmer.
We also discuss Resolute 4.0, a tech firm which he founded in 2018 to address some of the rampant security challenges posed to many farmers and cattle-herders in Nigeria, as well as his interest-turned-career as an artist whose works have been exhibited at art galleries such as Retro Africa.
In the final part of the podcast, we talked about his other passions, lessons learned along the way and future plans.
We found this chat interesting and inspirational and hope you do too. Enjoy!
